For businesses

Give what you no longer need to someone starting out

A closing restaurant may have to empty the space, and storing everything can cost more than the equipment is worth. A clothing store may have racks, fixtures and stock left over. Someone nearby may be trying to open a restaurant or a boutique and needs exactly those things. 1to1WiSh helps you find each other, free.

How it works

  1. Create a free account and choose Offer a 1WiSh.
  2. Pick the category Business Surplus, then what fits: kitchen and restaurant equipment, store fixtures and racks, tables and chairs, office equipment, or inventory and stock.
  3. List what you have, add your city and country, and say the date it must be out by. Choose how soon in the form so we can show urgent ones first.
  4. Our team reviews it. A person who needs it can message you through the site, and you hand it over directly.

Starting a restaurant, shop or other business? Request a 1WiSh in the same category and say what you are opening and what you need. You can also browse offers.

1to1WiSh is the matchmaker only. We never hold, store, ship or insure anything. The giver and the receiver arrange everything directly.

Bulk gifts and gifts to other countries

Large gifts, such as a store's clothing and shoes or a clinic's older medical equipment, work best when they go to an organization (a school, clinic, hospital, church or charity) that can receive and use them. On the form, tick This is a bulk gift for (or from) an organization and add the organization's name, country and who arranges shipping.

  • Items must be working, clean and honestly described. No medicines.
  • Medical equipment should go to a clinic or hospital that can use it safely. Some countries restrict used medical devices or used clothing, so the receiving organization should check its import rules first.
  • Established nonprofits already ship donated medical supplies and equipment and can advise on safety and customs, for example Project C.U.R.E., MedShare and Direct Relief. 1to1WiSh is not affiliated with them.
  • If you give to a registered charity, it may offer a tax receipt. That is between you and that charity, not 1to1WiSh. Please ask your accountant.

Please keep in mind

  • Be sure you can give it. Only the legal owner should offer items. If a landlord, bank or lender has a claim on the equipment, sort that out first.
  • Given as-is, no money. No money or fees change hands, and 1to1WiSh never handles payments.
  • Who moves it? Say in your listing who removes the items and by when. Large equipment is usually local pickup. Lighter items can be shipped, paid by the receiver.
  • Food. For now, please offer only non-perishable items and equipment, and keep food local.
  • Other countries. The receiver is responsible for their country's import rules and any customs fees.
  • Taxes. A gift given directly to a person is not a donation to 1to1WiSh and is not tax deductible. Please ask your accountant about your situation.

1to1WiSh is a way to try to connect people. We can't promise an item will be taken or a match will be made.
